What are they saying about Workplace Services?

Here at Workplace Services we are proud to be acknowledged in the field of employing Apprentices and Trainees. Workplace Services guarantees the placement of motivated and committed young people who are keen to build a career.
Of thousands of Apprentices and Trainees throughout Australia, we, along with our hosts, are producing not just a skilled workforce but those providing excellence in their field and with the state department of Education and Training.
Ashlee Scinocco, one of our 4th year cabinet making apprentices, is the
WA Apprentice of the Year for 2008/09.
Luke Cross, one of our cabinet making apprentices, was chosen as an ambassador for the Apprenticentre by the Department of Education and Training.
Michael Welshman was trained through our RTO services and is now representing Australia in the World Skills Competition in 2009.
Justine Cameron was a finalist in the Swan TAFE Student Awards.
Catherine Fisher was a finalist in the Lithographic Industry Awards 2008/09.
We congratulate the above students and look forward to bringing you more success stories in the near future.

"Workplace Services have made sure I'm doing the right thing and they ensure I'm learning the appropriate skills that I might be lacking in. They are really good at motivating me to do better and succeed. It was hard to find an apprenticeship with out Workplace Services."

"I've got hands on experience which means my skills are always up to date. It's also great getting feedback from professionals in the workplace."

"Stephanie, the Workplace coach, is very supportive and she is good at making sure you're on track, not just with your work load but on a personal level as well. I feel very comfortable to call her and have a chat and if I had any issues I know she would be more than happy to assist me."

"I like knowing where I can go with this trade; the possibilities are endless. I work with good people in an interesting job. Not many people can do this line of work. The team at Workplace Services found me a job when I was made redundant and made me feel like I could carry on with what I was doing! I really wanted to do this trade, and with out them I wouldn't be here!"
Jesse
Certificate in Polishing

"I wanted to do a Furniture Making apprenticeship because it's my passion. I choose Workplace Services because as a mature aged female I thought it may be hard to get into this kind of job anyway, so Workplace Services was my support group."
Justine
Certificate III in Cabinet Making

"Going through a group training provider is a great way to get into the industry. I didn't have any previous experience and I'm earning while I'm learning. The initial stages at Workplace Services were great because they were approachable and made me feel comfortable. They are very helpful, and are always offering support. Whenever I need help they provide it, whether it's if I need supplies or just a friendly word. They have also kept me informed with pays and super and other things."

"Workplace Services helped me out with all the stuff I needed like paper work and registration. Anything I want or need they organise. The Workplace mentor is a help as well, she checks up on progress and other personal things like my nutrition."
Nathan

"The workplace monitoring really helps because they make sure that your life is OK, not just work."

"Having someone there to organise everything for me is great. I think if I was doing it on my own I probably wouldn't have made it this far. Workplace Services has given me more confidence as well; they're always pushing me and saying 'I can do it'. I have felt welcome with Workplace Services right from the initial stages."

"I had an interest in the business admin and marketing sector and taking on an apprenticeship was a way I could tell if I liked it as a career. I contacted Workplace Services and went in on Wednesday and started work Thursday! They help with anything. If I have a problem they are there. Basically, all I need to do is ring up and ask and they'll help. They are currently helping me with my money management skills."

"We find having an apprentice in the workplace ideal. What we find with Michael is that he wanted to work in this industry so he wants to be here and he is keen to learn. Whatever project we throw at him he excels at it. He isn't afraid to ask questions, which I find is very important. Workplace Services are experienced in hiring young people who are eager to learn and take on new responsibilities."

"Workplace Services were a great help when my family took over the business recently. We met with them to discuss the role of the host arrangement for our two apprentices. We continue to use Workplace Services because they make everything extremely easy for us, from administration and paperwork through to monitoring the boys' developments. This has left us with more time to focus on the business' growth in this important time of change."
Craig Edson
Director
Office Comforts

"This is more than just a job; it's a passion for quality and expertise. It takes a lot of skill and many years of training so it does become more than just work, and all the people working here believe that. Workplace Services have provided me with capable and passionate apprentices so I know I'm investing my time in something worthwhile. Workplace Services and I both agree:
today's apprentices, tomorrows employers."
Simen Ten Tije

"Being a host through Workplace Services I'm kept in touch with my industry representatives and members. We regularly receive invitations to networking events and free seminars and are informed about trends in their bi-monthly newsletter. Over the years we have developed an effective working relationship with the Workplace staff."
Brent Windus

"I like knowing that especially in these economic times that the apprentice/trainee is being looked after. Workplace Services is there for both parties in case for some reason we couldn't afford to keep them on. If things slow down I know that the apprentice is not terminated but can be rotated to another company, thus encouraging career ambitions rather than making them difficult to achieve. I don't want to see apprentices lose interest in this ever-growing and vital industry."
Coni Emanuele
Supervisor
Mirrabooka Multicultural Child Care Centre

"I like WPS because I only have to do one thing each week, write a cheque! With my business I have only two guys and the paperwork is just enormous. I'm a cabinet maker, I don't like paper work. Sick leave, long service leave, all the entitlements have to be accounted for and it's all taken care of for me."

"At Palmer Signs and Graphics, the Workplace Services Mentor visits on a regular basis liaising with myself and the trainees to ensure they are on track personally and professionally. She helps keep them up to date with their work loads. Workplace Services provide quality traineeships ultimately resulting in less stress for the Palmer Signs business."
